To West Seneca West, from Dan Browne

Melissa Brawdy Down On The Ice

His high school career might be over, but his influence and legacy on the West Seneca West hockey program will live on.

Goaltender Dan Browne brought more than just a dominant net presence that included two shutouts in one week early in the season. He was a leader for the Indians whose teammates knew him as a hard worker.

I knew him as a talented goalie who was always respectful and made sure that his teammates were as well. He’ll be missed in the Fed next year, and he wants his teammates to know that while he’ll miss playing with them, he’s not going anywhere.

Without further ado, here are Dan’s words for his coaches and teammates.

I want to thank Rozo and the whole coaching staff. The last four years has been the best four years of my life.

If I could say one thing to all the players, I would let them know that you gotta cherish every moment because it really flies by, and high school hockey is something that I’ll always remember and I’ll always miss. If I could redo stuff, I would definitely redo some things about high school hockey. I would do anything to just play one more year, so enjoy it and don’t be mad at those 4-in-the-morning practices because you’re definitely gonna miss them when there’s no more.

To all the guys next year, it’s the last year for you seniors. Jake Fort, Colin Deubell, Parker, I know you guys want it, and you just gotta go get it because it’s there. You guys have a great team next year.

Mikey V’s gonna be doing some big things. Kyle Haettich’s gonna step up. Dunning’s gonna be scoring some more goals, breaking some more school records.

I’ll be going to all the home games, so I expect to see some good things.
