On Tuesday December 10, the Orchard Park girls varsity basketball team faced off against Williamsville East in a non-league matchup. The beginning of the first quarter remained close as both teams went back and forth scoring.

The game really seemed to open up for the Quakers as senior guard Lily Flannery went back to back on two possessions draining two three pointers. The Quakers held on to a pretty convincing lead for the majority of the first half. The Quakers were up on Williamsville East by 20 points at the half.

A little into the beginning of the third quarter, Williamsville East seemed to gain some momentum as they began to go on a scoring run. The scoring run was stopped by the Quakers, who gained an even more convincing lead throughout the fourth quarter.

The Quakers won the game, 52-25. The keys of winning the game for the Quakers seemed to be the defense. The Quakers played very solid defensively as they forced many turnovers, which led to fast breaks for them on the offensive side of the court. The Quakers played very good in the paint as they had many tough baskets from sophomore Maddy Stevenson, junior Ali Miller and eighth grader Sydney Fenn. Lady Quaker juniors Mollie Collins and Kylie McPoland brought a lot of energy to the court as they contributed on both sides of the floor, offensively and defensively.

Orchard Park remains undefeated on the season at 3-0 against non-league opponents.
