Park starts the New Year off right

It was a battle at Orchard Park High School the day after New Years as the Quakers hosted the Class A No. 1 ranked team in the state, Park School. The Pioneers came away with a 71-64 win, but the Quakers fought until the end. 

To start off the game, Park School developed a 10-3 lead over the Quakers. The Quakers managed to get the game to 10-7 to only be down by three after the first quarter.

Park School continued its lead through the second quarter with a couple of three pointers and points in the paint from their six-foot-10 center John Orogun. Park’s offense made the lead 28-21 at halftime.

In the beginning of the third quarter, Park School came out firing as they took an 18-point lead with a three from Jalen Bradberry. 

Orchard Park’s Jackson Roskow started firing up points late in the fourth quarter, which gave the Quakers a little momentum. The Quakers’ run fell short as Park School finished the game and won by seven, 71-64.

Park center John Orogun finished a monster game with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Desmond Davis of Park School was also a major offensive threat as he scored 19 points with a few big three pointers for Park.

Park School came out of Orchard Park with a 71-64 final score, starting the new year off with a bang.
