Orchard Park had a statement win at home Thursday night. The Quakers celebrated senior night with a 69-45 win over Lancaster.

The Quakers came out hot, starting the game off with a 20-6 run in the first quarter. OP was scoring on consecutive drives up the floor and had a strong grip on the lead of the game. Orchard Park kept the lead through the first half.

The second half was no different as the Quakers kept the same intensity and gained a larger lead over the Legends. Senior Lily Flannery and junior Ali Miller led the Quakers’ scoring in the second half, paying a large contribution to the win. OP looked like a complete team and came away with a 69-45 win at home.

Coach Gary Janas of the Orchard Park Quakers was thrilled for the girls after the big win.

“I decided I was going to start an all senior lineup for the game, and the adrenaline kicked in for the seniors and they were able to perform,” Janas said. “Our offense was good but became stagnant in the second half with a large lead, and we can’t be doing that with our offense. For the playoffs, we can’t take our foot off the gas.”

Junior Ali Miller had a stellar performance in the Quakers win. She picked up a total of 19 points.

“All of my points were assisted from Lily Flannery, so big shoutout to her,” Miller said. “Senior night really hyped us up and we were screaming the whole game from the start.”

The Quakers’ next game is Wednesday on the road at Jamestown High School.
