Orchard Park Dominant in Playoff Win

Earlier tonight, February 22nd, Orchard Park faced off against Niagara Falls Lockport at the Harborcenter for the first round of playoffs. The second seeded Quakers started right out of the gate with a goal from Michael Robertson early in the first. The Quakers kept their foot on the gas as they continued to find the back of the net, with goals from Carson Senfield and Aidan Hughes. As the first period came to a close, the Quakers had a 3-0 lead.

As the 2nd began, it seemed as if the Quakers didn’t lose their footing. Again, they came out firing with a goal from Ryan Licursi. It seemed as if Niagara Falls Lockport had no answer for the Quakers. Shortly after the goal from Licursi, Carson Miller scored to increase the lead to 5-0. Then again, the lead was 6-0 after a goal from Aidan Hughes. As the Quakers began to get red hot, Senfield finds the back of the net 2 times in a row to give OP the 8-0 lead. Senfield, who finished the game with 6 points(3 points/3 assists), had this to say about the Quaker offense. “Everything started to come together in the 2nd period, we took over in the offensive zone, and capitalized on every chance we got. Eventually, we just put the game away.” To wrap up the 2nd, Niagara Falls scored a late goal from Ciaran Hall, and OP matched that goal with a goal from Owen Hughes, making the score 9-1.

To start the 3rd, the Quakers kept their foot on the gas, and kept scoring with goals from Aiden Jones, Aidan Hughes and Owen Hughes, to make the lead 12-1. The Quakers were dominant throughout the game, and they closed the 3rd with a dominant defensive performance as well. The Quakers will move on to play Clarence on Wednesday, February 26th, at 8:30 at the Harborcenter.
